New York CityApply nowThe Product Management team drives Asana’s product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for team productivity and collaboration. We’re helping to define the Work Management category and inventing new ways for teams to work more efficiently together and see the larger purpose behind their work. Our team works directly with Engineering, Design, Experience Research, and Data Science, as well as with Sales, Support, and Marketing to ship great products. You’ll take part in every type of product work here — from strategy to product to process improvements — conceptualizing, launching, and iterating on Asana itself for millions of teams around the world.
We are seeking an experienced product manager to lead the structuring of work in Asana through custom fields and task types, vital to our strategy of supporting diverse workflows over the next two years. You will develop features based on customer needs, manage the fields & types platform and its roadmap, and collaborate with R&D teams to integrate structure into their features. This role requires deep customer empathy, a strong product intuition, and experience working with enterprise software to combine qualitative and quantitative insights for a comprehensive understanding of the customer experience. You'll work closely with both our customers and various teams to enhance customer workflows and drive impactful results.
This role is based in our New York City office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve:
- Define and deliver a compelling roadmap to ensure customers have the structure they need to power their end to end workflows.
- Synthesize input from customers, user research, data science, and business partners, ensuring we are continuously investing in the right ways to structure work, and shifting quickly when an area is no longer leveraged.
- Balance multiple workstreams to ensure you are making continued progress across the entire custom fields & types platform.
- Partner closely with design, engineering, marketing, and customer success to co-create a cohesive end to end journey and execute on the roadmap with velocity.
- Collaborate across the R&D organization to support other R&D teams in utilizing the custom field & types platform to achieve their goals.
About you:
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with at least 1-2 years experience on B2B SaaS.
- Customer-centric: You spend time directly with customers to understand their nuanced challenges and synthesizing research to identify and solve problems..
- Communication and collaboration: Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, clarifying complex concepts and writing precise product specifications. You pair effectively with design, engineering, and our business teams.
- Systems thinker: Think systemically, creating solutions that simplify complex use cases for customers.
- Strategic: Provide strategic insights and create intuitive connections within the custom field & types features and platform to address critical customer issues.
- Get Stuff Done: Execute projects with high velocity, breaking them down into MVPs and iterative stages for impactful delivery.
- Grow Team Asana: Foster team morale and share best practices in product management.

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $248,000 - $316,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
